Questo sito si propone di studiare le lingue in relazione ai processi storici e culturali che le hanno prodotte e da cui sono generate. Una parte del sito è destinato allo studio strutturale delle lingue, l’altra alle sue connessioni con la cultura materiale, con quella civile, con la dimensione politica e sociale delle società antiche e moderne.

“La lingua è un sistema governato da algoritmi ma realizzato nella storia e soggetto alle variazioni impredicibili della storia” (R. Lazzeroni), quindi richiede un approccio diversificato che si situa all’incrocio tra scienza e storia culturale. In modo analogo ad altre creazioni e attività umane, come le istituzioni e le mode, le lingue sono intrinsecamente mutevoli, nello spazio e nel tempo.

This site aims to study languages ​​in relation to the historical and cultural processes that produced them and from which they are generated. One part of the site is intended for the structural study of languages, the other for its connections with material culture, with civil culture, with the political and social dimension of ancient and modern societies.

Lazzeroni), therefore it requires a diversified approach that is located at the crossroads between science and cultural history. In a similar way to other human creations and activities, such as institutions and fashions, languages ​​are intrinsically changing, in space and time.
